Day one at home

We have been at home for over 24 hours. Last night was a bit rough, but that’s to be expected I suppose. I was pretty much an all you can eat buffet, but that’s ok. I got a nap in this afternoon, which was nice.

today we had to go to the pediatrician to followup about my jaundiced baby. His numbers when we left the hospital were at 12.9 he also weighed 6lbs 14oz. So today he weighed 6lbs 13oz, and we had to go get his bilirubin levels drawn at the hospital by our pediatricians. We had the option of going to that hospital, or traveling further and going to a pediatric hospital(20 minutes not far) and clearly we dropped the ball, we weren’t thinking, we should have driven to the pediatric hospital, just because they probably have more experience with four day olds. Joseph held him as they drop by drop filled the worlds largest vial from Calvin’s heal. It was terrible, but we made it through. His numbers were at 13, so we’re just going to monitor his yellowness, and make sure he’s having dirty diapers. We have a weight check Friday, and until then we’re just hanging out.
